We're home!!! (in Newcastle anyway)

NSW has the worst roads in Australia!

sunny 37 °C

We left Adelaide on the 2/1/2011. We had a lovely three week stay in the festive season. We caught the tram to Adelaide to see Carols by Candlelight, we also went to Glenelg to watch the fireworks on New Years Eve. They were both very well organized and enjoyable. The weather was lovely everyday.

We saddled up Big Bertha and made our way through the Barrossa Valley and stayed the night on the Victorian/NSW township of Robinvale. The caravan park is located on the very, very full Murray River. It is a lovely reasonable priced park to stay in with weeping willows on the water edge. It is very popular with boat owners and skiers.

We travelled for seven hours most days and the following night we stayed at Forbes. We decided to skip going to Victoria as we have been there already and our money was running out. We went through Dubbo and made it to our daughters home at Fern Bay where we will park Bertha out the front of until we venture to Bungwahl in a couple of days time.

The highlights of our journey was Broome (Mainly due to the climate) Coral Bay (Ningaloo Reef) WA, The Pinnicles and Wave Rock also in WA. Oh and also Esperance WA as they have the picture perfect coastline. It was lovely to see the Eyre and York Peninsulas in SA. The journey was great and we worked out it cost us about $20,000 for the six months. The bulk of this was for accommodation in Caravan Parks and fuel. We didn't have any mechanical problems and Bertha did us proud. We made lots of new and dear friends along the way.
